MotifInvesting.com: An Online Broker Offering Innovative Online Investing and Stock Trading Services to Turn Ideas and Global Trends into Investment Opportunities

https://www.motifinvesting.com/

Motif Investing intends to disrupt the current investing landscape by empowering people to invest in the ideas they get from everyday life.

Mr. ‘Hardeep Walia’ CEO of the US (San Mateo, California)-based start-up “Motif Investing”, has been kind enough to explain to us more about his Company.

According to Mr. ‘Walia'; The Goal of Motif Investing is nothing short of changing the world. We intend to disrupt the current investing landscape by empowering people to invest in the ideas they get from everyday life.

We’re not here to tell you what to buy or what to sell — we want to facilitate a simple and intuitive way to help be better – and more successful – investors. And we intend to do all of that at a low cost for our customers.

Motif Investing empowers individuals to invest in specific themes, or motifs as we call them. These are carefully researched and weighted collections of up to 30 stocks that reflect real-world trends and investment ideas. These motifs range from topics like Technology to Healthcare.

What makes Motif Investing different is that we don’t think anyone else out there has the same approach that we do around investing in ideas, and continue to approach the market in a conventional manner.

We are innovating around how you come up with investing ideas, how you share with your investing ideas with friends, and how investing can be more accessible to everyone.

Motifs are often compared to ETF’s but there are some differences.

An ETF offers the same diversification idea, but the more popular ETFs generally follow traditional investing approaches. Instead of a straightforward “senior care” or “caffeine fix” motif, you might get “mid-cap healthcare services” or “large-cap beverage company” ETFs.

ETFs don’t necessarily correspond with those great investing ideas, like a looming world water shortage, or an upcoming election. That’s because ETFs were often built around the asset-allocation model, and were created primarily for institutional investors. [Read more…]

Rumgr.com: A Free Location Based Marketplace iPhone Mobile App that Brings the Garage Sale Experience to the Palm of your Hand

http://www.rumgr.com/

Rumgr is a location based marketplace. It is as easy as taking a picture, and your item is for sale to everyone around you.

Facebook Twitter

Mr. ‘Dylan Bathurst”; Co-founder & CEO of the US (Las Vegas, Nevada)-based start-up “Rumgr”; has given us a much better idea about his flagship product; a location based marketplace mobile app.

According to Mr. ‘Bathurst'; Rumgr is a garage sale for your phone. To de-clutter your home and earn extra cash at the same time, simply take a picture of what you want to sell.

No descriptions, no tags, and no location details are needed. Rumgr uses the features endemic to mobile (camera, GPS, messaging, push notifications) to make posting an item for sale quick and easy.

The buying experience is just as seamless, and can even be fun. Just as you would browse a garage sale, users “rummage” in the app in their spare time, while waiting on line or hanging out at home.

Items appear in the image feed in order of proximity, so the top items could be as close as 200 feet away. And since buyer-seller communication takes place within the app, it’s not just convenient, it’s also safe.

Founded in fall of 2011 by the top mobile and web development talent at Zappos, and backed by Tony Hsieh among other angel investors, the company has quickly grown a vibrant community of 5000 loyal buyers and sellers. [Read more…]

YELLaround.com: An Online Local Message Broadcasting Platform that Travels with you Everywhere you Go and Connects you with Everyone in your Area

http://www.yellaround.com

YELLaround is the world’s first local message broadcasting platform. It is a location-based newsfeed of all messages (Yells) that are posted within your location radius.

We had the pleasure of interviewing the very ambitious and goal-driven Mr. ‘Kyle Case‘; Co-Founder and CEO of the US (Minneapolis, Minnesota)-based start-up “YELLaround” about his Company.

“YELLaround” is an online local message broadcasting platform that travels with you everywhere you go and connects you with everyone in your area.

Below is the full interview that we have conducted with Mr. ‘Case’ regarding his start-up company “YELLaround”;

1. What is it exactly that you do and what “YELLaround” is all about?

YELLaround is the world’s first local message broadcasting platform.

It is a location-based newsfeed of all messages (Yells) that are posted within your location radius.

YELLaround gives individuals, organizations, and businesses the ability to reach every YELLaround user that is near them.

With YELLaround you don’t need to add friends or try to attract followers, you immediately are connected with anyone within a common distance radius.

2. When has “YELLaround” been founded? And what stage is “YELLaround” currently at?

Our startup was founded September 2011. Our startup is preparing for a private beta release focused on the University of Minnesota campus and the Twin Cities in September 2012.

We will expand YELLaround to more cities based on the number of signups we receive on www.yellaround.com.

Once a city has reached the signup threshold we’ve established, then we will release YELLaround in that city, so sign up today!

3. What is “YELLaround”’s business model and how does it work?

Our company is focused on growing our user base and creating a great experience for our users.

We believe too many startups are focused on making money instead of creating products that users love.

Revenue is a result of making great products.

We believe there is an opportunity for YELLaround to eventually move to a freemium model that would allow advanced features for business and power users that are interested in high performing Yells.

4. How did your team meet? And who in your team does what?

Trong and I met when we worked together at a previous job.

We started YELLaround as a hobby project and began to spend more and more time on it until it became a reality.

I am responsible for user experience, testing, and business tasks within YELLaround.

Trong is responsible for development and technology decision making.

5. What, exactly, makes you different from existing options, what will make your product and/or service stand out in the marketplace? In other words what’s unique about you and what’s new about what you make?

YELLaround is unique because its a newsfeed that is follows you everywhere you go.

When you travel to a new city, your Twitter followers and Facebook friends don’t come with you.

With YELLaround, you could be traveling in a completely new city and feel like you know exactly what is happening and what is on the minds of everyone there.

You don’t have to check in to every restaurant or bar.

You just pull up your newsfeed or mapview and see what places are most talked about on YELLaround.

Mr. ‘Rick Ross'; Founder and CEO of the US (Cary, North Carolina)-based start-up “DZone”, took some time to explain to us a bit more about who’s behind his Company and what it is all about.

Though DZone was founded in 2006, the company’s startup culture has lead to the success of its newest product AnswerHub, a social Q&A platform for enterprises that combines the best features of wikis, forums, search engines and social networks.

AnswerHub is used by enterprises such as GridGain, Readify, Dyn DNS and Guru.com.

We hit the 20 employees mark this year, and expect to grow rapidly with AnswerHub.

The startup scene in N.C. is up and coming. There are lots of new tech companies choosing to be here for many of the same reasons we chose.

At the same time, it does feel the area lacks the infrastructure to support startups that you see in other hot startup areas. [Read more…]

According to Mr. ‘Hite'; The abandoned theme parks, the unexplainable roadside art, the monstrous, never-before-seen hamburgers made of locally-raised beef – these are what make road trips worth packing and filling up the tank for.

Roadtrippers.com, a Cincinnati-based start-up, wants to make sure every time you start up the car, you know of all the quirky, offbeat, uncommon, and previously unknown places there are to stop and see. From the family-owned restaurants with generous portions to the Museum of Plumbing Fixtures – Roadtrippers will let you discover your America.

http://www.sparefoot.com/

Sparefoot is a simple and efficient solution for locating storage facilities, comparing prices, and booking storage units online.

Mr. ‘Ross Betts'; Public Relations Assistant at the US (Austin, Texas)-based start-up “SpareFoot”, explained to us in more details who’s behind the company and what is it all about.

According to Mr. ‘Betts'; Sparefoot is a simple and efficient solution for locating storage facilities, comparing prices, and booking storage units online.

We also provide marketing/advertising solutions for storage facility owners, and now boast the largest selection of storage units with real-time pricing and availability on the web. Our network is larger than all other online storage directories combined, and growing rapidly.

SpareFoot was founded in 2008 by then-UCLA students Chuck Gordon and Mario Feghali (aka Chario).

Initially the website was designed as a peer-to-peer storage space locator, but began to evolve as smaller privately owned storage facilities wanted in on the action.

Chuck and Mario realized there was a larger opportunity for this platform in the traditional self-storage industry. [Read more…]
