Start-Ups.Co had an interesting chit chat with Mr. ‘Onur Alp Soner’; Co-Founder of the Turkey (Istanbul)-based start-up “Countly” about his company.

According to Mr. ‘Onur Alp Soner’; Countly is an innovative, open source, real-time mobile analytics platform intended for game studios, marketers, agencies, operators, and pretty much everyone with an aim to increase loyalty, user retention and usability of their mobile applications.

Any mobile application developer can start measuring application performance by putting a few lines inside the code.

It’s then possible to count users, sessions, find out top countries, carriers, and measure user loyalty and session frequency.

In short, Countly simply shows how your mobile app performs. This is important when you try to understand how the application behaves, together with bottlenecks and issues if there are any.

Countly is an open source project – we chose open source since some other analytics platforms just own your data with agreements, and sell it to third parties without asking you.

We believe that your data is yours, and users should be able to control the data they store in mobile analytics products.

Therefore our goal is to make it easier to move data from one service to another with ease (even between different mobile application services).

With Countly, we are trying to convince people that mobile analytics should be a usual part of their mobile development and project management.

If they understand how their application works, then it’s possible to increase loyalty, user retention hence sales.

Mobile analytics in fact is a big chunk of mobile marketing strategy, because it’s the only way to measure performance and enhance ROI.

Countly solves the problem of analysing how customers interact with your application by showing important usage data about your application on gorgeous, user-friendly dashboard, so you can focus on the problems of your application, fixing bottlenecks and increasing usability.

While Countly has lots of features that will fit the needs of most companies, organizations and individuals, we are working to make Countly platform-agnostic, in order to track every device in the world like smart TVs, school smart boards or in-car entertainment systems.

With Countly, it’s possible to track everything, get data from every device and visualize it – since Countly is open source, writing a simple SDK will suffice to start tracking.

Countly is a growing ecosystem and more than 2500 developers have downloaded Countly.

There are production systems already, some of them being tracking more than 10 applications at the same time.

We are getting continous feedbacks and requests for paid services, and we are thinking on extending our business without sacrificing the basic feature of Countly: being open source and focusing on data liberation.
