Start-Ups.Co had an insightful and content rich interview with Mr. ‘Søren Halskov Nissen‘; Founder and CEO of the Denmark (Copenhagen)-based start-up “Click A Taxi”.

Click A Taxi“ is the world’s largest network of quality taxi companies and the industry leader in providing next generation digital tools for the global taxi market.

Below is the full interview that we have conducted with Mr. ‘Halskov Nissen’ regarding his start-up company “Click A Taxi”;

1. What is it exactly that you do and what “Click A Taxi” is all about?

Click A Taxi is global taxi aggregation service providing you with a handpicked quality taxi in just a few clicks, anywhere in the world. The company’s primary user interface is our consumer app, but the system is designed to integrate with any number of back end systems to help businesses book a taxi.

2. When has “Click A Taxi” been founded? And what stage is “Click A Taxi” currently at?

Click A Taxi was founded in 2010 and went live in Denmark in October 2011. We are currently live in the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia. We expect to expand to all of Western Europe and Australia this autumn. Click A Taxi will cover the Americas and major cities in Asia by the end of 2012. So we are in an exciting stage of rapid expansion.

3. What is “Click A Taxi”‘s business model and how does it work?

Our business model is based on a pay per booking arrangement with our taxi partners. Click A Taxi users are not charged anything extra for booking through the app. The taxi company they ride with simply pays us a small referral fee (+/- 40 Euro cents) for each booking they receive. The arrangement is good for both taxi users and businesses because it minimises costs on both ends.

4. How did your team meet? And who in your team does what?

Søren Halskov Nissen (CEO and Founder)
Nikolaj Køster (Director of Marketing and Communications)
Peter Theill (Senior Developer)
Michael Vivet (Director of Development)

We have an additional fourteen employees based at our Copenhagen office. We are divided into an Operations Team, Marketing and Communication and a Development team.

5. What, exactly, makes you different from existing options, what will make your product and/or service stand out in the marketplace? In other words what’s unique about you and what’s new about what you make?

Click A Taxi is the first taxi service aggregator with the potential to provide truly international service for our users. There are a lot of taxi apps and aggregators on the market. But only Click A Taxi provides global or even nation-wide coverage. We provide the kind of coverage that allows our users to throw away the five different taxi apps they have for several different cities and be confident that they can use one app to get a high quality taxi service wherever they happen to be.

Rumgr.com: A Free Location Based Marketplace iPhone Mobile App that Brings the Garage Sale Experience to the Palm of your Hand

http://www.rumgr.com/

Rumgr is a location based marketplace. It is as easy as taking a picture, and your item is for sale to everyone around you.

Facebook Twitter

Mr. ‘Dylan Bathurst”; Co-founder & CEO of the US (Las Vegas, Nevada)-based start-up “Rumgr”; has given us a much better idea about his flagship product; a location based marketplace mobile app.

According to Mr. ‘Bathurst’; Rumgr is a garage sale for your phone. To de-clutter your home and earn extra cash at the same time, simply take a picture of what you want to sell.

No descriptions, no tags, and no location details are needed. Rumgr uses the features endemic to mobile (camera, GPS, messaging, push notifications) to make posting an item for sale quick and easy.

The buying experience is just as seamless, and can even be fun. Just as you would browse a garage sale, users “rummage” in the app in their spare time, while waiting on line or hanging out at home.

Items appear in the image feed in order of proximity, so the top items could be as close as 200 feet away. And since buyer-seller communication takes place within the app, it’s not just convenient, it’s also safe.

Founded in fall of 2011 by the top mobile and web development talent at Zappos, and backed by Tony Hsieh among other angel investors, the company has quickly grown a vibrant community of 5000 loyal buyers and sellers. [Read more...]

Today we interviewed Mr. ‘Eric Littleton‘; CEO at the US (Louisville, KY)-based start-up “WhyWait” about his Company.

“WhyWait” is a discovery app that allows users to find the following for restaurants/bars: Happy Hours, Deals, Events, Menus, Images and Social Media Integration.

Below is the full interview that we have conducted with Mr. ‘Littleton’ regarding his Company “WhyWait”;

1. What is it exactly that you do and what “WhyWait” is all about?

WhyWait is a discovery app that allows users to find the following for restaurants/bars:

-Happy Hours
-Deals
-Events
-Menus
-Images
-Social Media Integration

We also allow users to receive opt-in push notifications from the restaurants of their choosing. The restaurants control these messages in real-time. So, as a WhyWait user, if Tuesday night is slow for a particular restaurant I have favorited, I could receive a special notification good for that night only.

Our product is unique because we have created a consumer facing-product where the content is generated by the actual restaurants as opposed to user generated platforms such as urbanspoon and yelp. Our content is more robust and accurate.

WhyWait’s goal is to provide our restaurant clients with an easy to use marketing platform in the mobile arena and our app users a better channel in which to communicate with restaurants.

2. When has “WhyWait” been founded? And what stage is “WhyWait” currently at?

10/26/2011. We are in the latter beta stage of our product release. We debuted it in Bowling Green KY and gathered customer/app user feedback to determine the direction of our product.
