ShopLocket.com: An E-commerce Platform that Lets Anyone Start Selling Professionally Online in Minutes

ShopLocket is the easiest way to sell online. Rather than having to build out a full online storefront or get lost in a marketplace, sellers are able to quickly sell from anywhere that they already have an audience: their website, blog or social networks.

We have interviewed Mr. ‘Dan Kalmar‘; Community Manager at the Canada (Toronto)-based start-up “ShopLocket” regarding what his company does and what it is all about.

“ShopLocket” is an E-commerce platform that lets anyone start selling professionally online in minutes.

Below is the full interview that we have conducted with Mr. ‘Kalmar’ regarding his start-up company “ShopLocket”;

1. What is it exactly that you do and what “ShopLocket” is all about?

ShopLocket is the easiest way to sell online. Rather than having to build out a full online storefront or get lost in a marketplace, sellers are able to quickly sell from anywhere that they already have an audience: their website, blog or social networks. Setup is easy.

Users just signup and are taken through a quick product creation wizard and are able to then share it around the web.

2. When has “ShopLocket” been founded? And what stage is “ShopLocket” currently at?

ShopLocket was officially started in late 2011.

ShopLocket first launched in closed beta on February 22, 2012 at Sproutup.

It then launched in open beta on April 25, 2012. After completing the Toronto tech accelerator Extreme Startups, ShopLocket closed its Seed round on August 1, 2012.

ShopLocket currently has five employees and is Located in Toronto.

Today, Mr. ‘Danish Nadeem’; Founder and CEO of the US (New York)-based start-up “CourseSpree Inc.”, introduced us to his web-based company in terms of who they are and what they really do.

According to Mr. ‘Nadeem’; CourseSpree.com is an ecommerce site geared to help students earn better grades while earning an income.CourseSpree’s mission is to help students succeed academically.

On our site, Students can hire tutors for virtual/location based tutoring sessions, get subject specific help by posting a question with a price ($), buy class notes, study guides and make recurring revenue for themselves by selling their notes to others.

We are in the process of partnering up with more local colleges and universities to help them manage their tutors and note takers and funneling those resources to students in one convenient place.

Danish Nadeem founded CourseSpree Inc. in May 2012, while he was finishing his Bachelors as an undergrad at Syracuse University to help universities manage their resources in a cheaper and effective manner.

He has been selected to come back as a Kauffman Entrepreneurship Engagement Fellow (’12-’13) to pursue his venture CourseSpree. [Read more...]

At IppinKa, we believe great products must be functional (easy to use, unobtrusive, performs the intended job very well) and made with the quality to last a long time and withstand a lot of usage. 1. What is it exactly that you do and what “ShareMotive” is all about?

Sharemotive is an e-commerce platform and online marketplace facilitating what I describe as “social incentive e-commerce.” The approach to the e-commerce landscape is one defined by targeting highly active social media users and giving them incentives to share their product purchases and suggestions with their social networks.

Through strategic partnerships and agreements with retail and consumer merchandise firms, the platform is able to harness the power of word of mouth marketing driving both increased sales and exposure for merchants, discounts for consumers and a completely new and exciting buying and selling experience for both sides of the equation.

2. When has “ShareMotive” been founded? And what stage is “ShareMotive” currently at?

Sharemotive was founded on April 1st, 2012. Since its inception the idea behind Sharemotive has gone through a number of transitions and revisions to come to where it is today.

I launched the Sharemotive landing page on June 2, 2012 and currently am looking to expand the team bringing on a full-time web developer and UX designer.
