We had an insightful and in-depth interview with the young entrepreneur Mr. ‘Daniel Schwarz‘; Founder & CEO of the England (London)-based start-up “Airwalk Design”.

Airwalk Design“ is a creative social platform for sharing design inspiration.

Below is the full interview that we have conducted with Mr. ‘Schwarz’ regarding his start-up company “Airwalk Design”;

1. What is it exactly that you do and what “Airwalk Design” is all about?

Airwalk Design is like Pinterest for designers, a creative platform for sharing design inspiration. We also have fresh, undiscovered writers with specialist knowledge in certain genres of digital design. We call them our ambassadors! Our mission is to inspire and spark thought-provoking reactions in the minds of designers worldwide. The very best of the user-submissions will be published in our magazine.

2. When has “Airwalk Design” been founded? And what stage is “Airwalk Design” currently at?

We began right at the beginning of 2013, and we have already launched our website this spring, including Dropbox integration and our new Google Chrome app that lets you share design inspiration with no more fuss than a single click. We are currently accepting sign-ups and encourage users to submit their favourite design inspirations.

3. What is “Airwalk Design”‘s business model and how does it work?

We plan to monetize our platform with niche-topic advertising using the BuySellAds network and also through the sales of our monthly e-magazine. If the inspiration strikes us, we will also publish books by either myself or our onboard, handpicked writers specializing in specific topics such as dark-art and surrealism.

4. How did your team meet? And who in your team does what?

I am the only person in my team! I do everything, from design to development to marketing! It’s a tiring role, but an exciting and fulfilling one. Not too much cost-effective! We do have onboard writers, however they have signed up as volunteers. Their benefits include discovery, experience and reputation.

5. What, exactly, makes you different from existing options, what will make your product and/or service stand out in the marketplace? In other words what’s unique about you and what’s new about what you make?

We don’t really have many competitors, or you could say that we have a lot. Photoshop blogs, Pinterest, the Behance network or deviantArt…we’re taken inspiration from so many things but we like to think that we’re unique and incomparable. We’ve integrated with Dropbox, we have a Chrome App, really put the effort in. Our writing focuses on intense, thought-provoking topics that are sure to inspire. [Read more...]

We had the pleasure of interviewing the very ambitious and goal-driven Mr. ‘Kyle Case‘; Co-Founder and CEO of the US (Minneapolis, Minnesota)-based start-up “YELLaround” about his Company.

“YELLaround” is an online local message broadcasting platform that travels with you everywhere you go and connects you with everyone in your area.

Below is the full interview that we have conducted with Mr. ‘Case’ regarding his start-up company ”YELLaround”;

1. What is it exactly that you do and what “YELLaround” is all about?

YELLaround is the world’s first local message broadcasting platform.

It is a location-based newsfeed of all messages (Yells) that are posted within your location radius.

YELLaround gives individuals, organizations, and businesses the ability to reach every YELLaround user that is near them.

With YELLaround you don’t need to add friends or try to attract followers, you immediately are connected with anyone within a common distance radius.

2. When has “YELLaround” been founded? And what stage is “YELLaround” currently at?

Our startup was founded September 2011. Our startup is preparing for a private beta release focused on the University of Minnesota campus and the Twin Cities in September 2012.

We will expand YELLaround to more cities based on the number of signups we receive on www.yellaround.com.

Once a city has reached the signup threshold we’ve established, then we will release YELLaround in that city, so sign up today!

3. What is “YELLaround”’s business model and how does it work?

Our company is focused on growing our user base and creating a great experience for our users.

We believe too many startups are focused on making money instead of creating products that users love.

Revenue is a result of making great products.

We believe there is an opportunity for YELLaround to eventually move to a freemium model that would allow advanced features for business and power users that are interested in high performing Yells.

4. How did your team meet? And who in your team does what?

Trong and I met when we worked together at a previous job.

We started YELLaround as a hobby project and began to spend more and more time on it until it became a reality.

I am responsible for user experience, testing, and business tasks within YELLaround.

Trong is responsible for development and technology decision making.

5. What, exactly, makes you different from existing options, what will make your product and/or service stand out in the marketplace? In other words what’s unique about you and what’s new about what you make?

YELLaround is unique because its a newsfeed that is follows you everywhere you go.

When you travel to a new city, your Twitter followers and Facebook friends don’t come with you.

With YELLaround, you could be traveling in a completely new city and feel like you know exactly what is happening and what is on the minds of everyone there.

You don’t have to check in to every restaurant or bar.

You just pull up your newsfeed or mapview and see what places are most talked about on YELLaround.

Dropr is innovative and maybe even revolutionary when it comes to technology used and its interface.

But I think the most important thing is our intended purpose for it: one platform to host all types of art online, not only pictures, videos, music or text but also interactive experiments and algorithmic art (and more to come :) ).

This way it can not only cater for multi-disciplinary creatives, but most importantly, connect those that are currently divided between media-specific platforms such as Soundcloud, Vimeo or Flickr. [Read more...]

Basically we want to complete the experience we get from attending an event with an online experience where you not only instantly have access to all your and your friends photos and videos, but also to photos of people you don`t know that attended the same event.

Just like in real life – you`re all there, you share this experience – so why shouldn`t you share it online without knowing each other? Add syncing your facebook, dropbox, picasa, flickr and others, spice it up with an engaging gamification and statistics system and finish it off with an awesome tool that will let you influence the venues and events you go to. That`s Whalla.
