Below is the full interview that we have conducted with Mr. ‘Holysz’ regarding his start-up “Whalla”;

1. What is it exactly that you do and what “Whalla” is all about?

Whalla lets its users enjoy offline events online. It delivers a social platform based on events and crowd-sourced albums with a new privacy model a cool synch and filter options for your photos.

Basically we want to complete the experience we get from attending an event with an online experience where you not only instantly have access to all your and your friends photos and videos, but also to photos of people you don`t know that attended the same event.

Just like in real life – you`re all there, you share this experience – so why shouldn`t you share it online without knowing each other? Add syncing your facebook, dropbox, picasa, flickr and others, spice it up with an engaging gamification and statistics system and finish it off with an awesome tool that will let you influence the venues and events you go to. That`s Whalla.

2. When has “Whalla” been founded? And what stage is “Whalla” currently at?

We took part in Huge Thing – a startup accelerator in Poznan,Poland. We finished the 3 month mentoring period and we`re in the 3 month acceleration period with conditionary funding (meaning we didn`t get it yet ).

Our startup is only 1 month old as both co-founder started Huge Thing with different projects and we joined forces only a month ago. Hence our product is not yet ready but our programmers are on fire and we should be up within a month. [Read more...]

1. What is it exactly that you do and what “PitchPick” is all about?

PitchPick is a web-based video hiring/screening solution designed to help employers reduce the time, cost, and energy wasted on non-hire interviews.

After reviewing resumes, employers can send the candidates they want to learn more about a Pitch Invitation requesting them to respond to a question such as, “Why should we hire you?” In the invitation, the employer gives the candidate a deadline to respond as well as a time restriction for the pitch ranging from 30-sec to 2-minutes.

We are all about creating an equal opportunity for employers and candidates alike to help find the perfect match for not only a specific position, but a company’s culture.

2. When has “PitchPick” been founded? And what stage is “PitchPick” currently at?

PitchPick was founded in the Spring of 2011 by Reece Norris and Bryan Johnson.

While we are in a continuing effort to perfect our product, the core of PitchPick’s development was completed about a year later and in April 2012, we underwent a soft launch.

We are still in our infancy as we constantly test PitchPick’s limits ourselves and through our Beta clients.

Rawporter is a mobile application based service that helps the news media instantly source raw news content.

1. What is it exactly that you do and what “Rawporter” is all about?

Rawporter helps people earn money for shooting and sharing photos and videos. All items captured with the app or uploaded online are indexed so they become discoverable by search engines and can not only be found but also purchased.

Additionally, buyers interested in custom photos and videos can tell us exactly what they want and what they are willing pay. We then send these assignments to our users that are most likely to respond. Best of all, Rawporter is fully integrated with Facebook and Twitter so experiences can still be shared with friends and family!

2. When has “Rawporter” been founded? And what stage is “Rawporter” currently at?

Our iOS and Web beta launch was on 11/10/11. We’re still in beta on 4 platforms (iOS, Android, Web and Mobile Web) and are focused on collecting feedback to polish our product and improve the user experience.

We knew that a product like our required a public beta to collect real user feedback. We continue to iterate and hope to have more stable product very soon but the core functionality is starting to come along.

LoopLR is a real time social video platform for the creation and distribution of user produced video content on Smartphones and Tabs. We are engineering a social experience that will enable LoopLR to take a leading role in next generation social networks for mobile and connected device platforms.

2. When has “LoopLR” been founded? And what stage is “LoopLR” currently at?

LoopLR was founded in 2011 as a result of the founding team experimenting with real time social video apps, ideas and concepts. Video has a sweet spot amongst the founders, so the decision was made to build something that could be very big and based around the core concepts of video and Smartphones.
