Today, we had a quick overview with Mr. ‘Tomasz Dominiak'; Project Manager / CEO of Talk.io  in Warsaw.

Talk.io (http://www.talk.io) is a new product designed for anyone who wants to break free from inner social circles and meet some new people. In general, it is an internet chat application, that takes on an up-to-date form. With extensive social networks integration for the best possible matching algorithms, Talk.io takes users outside their inner social circle and makes new connections.

Talk.io is a product for all people ready to build new connections. Existing social networks (e.g. Facebook or Google+) prefer users’ activity within existing circles of friends. What is more, they expect a continuous display of their true identity. Both of these features restrict the freedom of making completely new, valuable contacts.

There is something alluring about meeting new people in chat rooms. In order to take advantage of this potential Talk.io offers an up-to-date and much more cooler internet chat application.

Talk.io is a product for all people ready to build new connections. Existing social networks (e.g. Facebook or Google+) prefer users’ activity within existing circles of friends. What is more, they expect a continuous display of their true identity. Both of these features restrict the freedom of making completely new, valuable contacts.

Talk.io integrates social networks to find the best matching algorithms to create a fun way to meet new people outside their inner social circle. It is also characterized by simplicity and a hassle-free entry to its main chat features such as searching for new people and holding conversations. Users don’t have to be registered to send chat invites to each other and have a chinwag with them, everything is done in a simple and convenient way. Talk.io project manager Tomasz Dominiak says “Talk.io offers a touch of novelty to chatting with random people.”

Thanks to Talk.io people can experience a sense of online serendipity when they meet people from around the world who have similar interests. One of the most fun features of talk.io is creating an online identity (fake ones are totally cool too). But users can upload an image, pick a nickname, specify a gender and an age, and start getting connected to their serendipitous internet friends.

Users can integrate Talk.io account with their accounts on social networking services (Facebook, YouTube, Last.fm, Foursquare, Linkedin). Data collected from these services helps in assigning a user to groups of interest on talk.io, where they can find similar people. Extensive integration with Facebook is another important feature. If one talk.io user is online on Facebook, they’re on talk.io too.

Talk.io wants to fill the gap left by the largest social networking platforms (such as Facebook and Google+). The area from which talk.io wants to carve out a piece of the pie for itself revolves around the natural need of meeting new people. In the five months since the launch of the Talk.io service won more than 500 000 unique monthly visitors and over 25 000 active users (people that carry on conversations). Tomasz Dominiak claims:

“We follow a Lean Startup methodology and the site is currently kicking it MVP-style with only the most important functionalities available to see what users think. The planned development of Talk.io is primarily concerned with developing mobile applications and taking Talk.io to a more global level.”
